Dissemination

Dissemination and Exploitation activities are considered of pivotal importance in the framework of CMC_E Project. Dissemination of project results and outcomes are:

  • a CMC_E specific objective;
  • a key element to achieve one of the CMC_E general objectives, that is “to create the opportunity of a multilingual network and a cultural-diverse environment”.

According to the CMC_E Dissemination and Exploitation Strategy planned at the beginning of the project, the Partnership is using 8 different types of Dissemination and Exploitation activities:

DIRECT COMMUNICATION TO TARGET GROUPS
All Partners sent a letter informing about CMC_E activities to Enterprises. This letter had the objective to involve them in the Survey foreseen by WP5. Each Partner created a Mailing list. The data in term of target groups contacted is highlighted below.

PUBLICATION OF INFORMATIVE ARTICLES, NEWSLETTERS AND VIDEOS

  • Promotional Video

The Portuguese Partner (Instituto Politecnico the Castelo Branco) realized a promotional Video about CMC_E Project. It was distributed and promoted through different channels. Through search engines such as Google looking for CMC_E pages in Portuguese we found 102 results containing the link to the promotional Video realized by IPCB. Some examples are highlighted below.

Carmen Argondizzo wrote an article on the Comenius, Grundtivig, ICT and Languages Projects’ Meeting Brussels 7 & 8 February, 2008 in which she highlighted the launching of the CMC_E project (Communicating in Multilingual Contexts meets the Enterprises), providing information about project aims and links for further information

BROCHURE

  • P1 - University of Calabria prepared   a brochure on CMC_E in English and shared it with the Partners. The Brochure is available at P1 Language Centre and will be soon sent to Association of Categories (Chamber of Commerce).

  • P6- University of Santiago de Compostela is preparing a leaflet providing information on the Project. There will be versions of these flyers in Spanish, Galician and English.

PRESENTATION OF PAPERS DURING SEMINARS AND CONFERENCES

  • 10th CercleS Conference - 18-20 September 2008, Seville, Spain

From September 18th to 20th 2008, the Instituto de Idiomas of the University of Seville (Spain) host the Tenth Biennial International Conference organized by the European Confederation of Language Centres in Higher Education (CERCLES). Under the motto “Language Centres for a Plurilingual Future in Europe”. The objective was  to promote participation and interaction between the different Centres involved in language teaching in Europe, with the objective of improving the training processes through the permanent exchange of ideas, and of consolidating a network of university institutions which will be capable of providing solutions to the new challenges facing language learning.
In the Section dedicated to the Topic 1- E-learning, blended learning & web enhanced learning, that took place on September 19th, 2008 C. Argondizzo and J. Jiménez (Member of the CMC_E team at University of Calabria) presented a paper focused on CMC and CMC_E project experience and activities that has the following title: “Meeting the needs of students, in-service workers and enterprises in a multilingual and multicultural Europe: A challenge for Language”

  • First International Conference on English Teaching and Learning - ICELT1

Presentation of a paper at First International Conference onEnglish Teaching and Learning - ICELT1 – Universidad de Santiago the Compostela - 10-13 September 2008.
During the Pannel dedicated to ELT, chaired by Ignacio Palacios (Component of CMC_ E staff - P6) the CMC_E Project was presented.

Nick Byrne  - CMC_E staff member at P7 LSE- during its presentation on How UK universities are offering integrated and non-integrated language modules introduced LSE Language Centre Structure and presented projects CMC and CMC_E as examples of applied research.

SPECIFIC SEMINARS AND EVENTS

  • P1 – University of Calabria organized a Poster Session on the project during the Orientation Day Exhibition for high school students/ leavers and university students « Lezioni di Campus » that took place at University of Calabria in the Month of October 2008.
  • P6 – University of Santiago de Compostela organized in September 2008 an informative session to students of Spanish as a foreign language at the Modern Language Centre of the USC.

  • The LLP Italian National Agency was contacted at the launching of the Project. A representative of the Agency participated in the Project Kick-off Meeting;
